When we called her to come at 3am I wasn’t sure what to expect but she is always professional and 100% focused your needs. I don’t know how she got me to manage through the contractions lying down, I couldn’t sit still before she got there but that rest was what got me the energy to keep going. Katy also has a wealth of knowledge which she is great about sharing in a way that doesn’t make you feel that you have been doing everything wrong (even if you have been!). It is this low key approach backed by experience and knowledge which make Katy a fantastic doula which any family would be lucky to have assisting them at their birth and in those delicate days after. I must also add that the breastfeeding support we received from Katy was invaluable, I don’t think I would have continued with it if it weren’t for her suggestions, great little tricks and encouragement.
